　　Some people enjoy living together with their parents after they have grown up. They hold the opinion because, living with parents , they can take better care of their parents and vice versa. Meanwhile, they can turn to their parents for help if they get into trouble or have some difficulties. To them, life in a big family seems to be more enjoyable than that in a small family.

　　Others, however, prefer to live separately. They cherish the idea to be independent of their parents, seek more freedom and wish to have a place of their own, in which they can do what they like. Besides, they dont want to be overprotected by their parents but long for chance to face the society by themselves.

　　As to me, I like an independent life style in spite of the fact I love my parents. Different generations have different life styles and values. What one generation likes may not be another generations fondness. Living separately, each generation can enjoy different value. In addition, by leading an independent life, I can train my character and develop my own ability to deal with things encountered in my life.

　　Surprisingly, no one knows how many children receive education in English hospit als, still less the content or quality of that education. Proper records are jus t not kept. We know that more than 850.000 children go through hospital each year, and that every child of school age has a legal right to continue to receive education wh ile in hospital. We also know there is only one hospital teacher to every 1,000 children in hospital.

　　Little wonder the latest survey concludes that the extent and type of hospital t eaching available differ a great deal across the country. It is found that half the hospitals in England which admit children have no teacher. A further quarter have only a part-time teacher. The special childrens hospitals in major cities do best; general hospitals in the country and holiday areas are worst off. From this survey, one can estimate that fewer than one in five children have som e contact with a hospital teacher-and that contact may be as little as two hour s a day. Most children interviewed were surprised to find a teacher in hospital at all. They had not been prepared for it by parents or their own school. If the re was a teacher they were much more likely to read books and do math or number work; without a teacher they would only play games.

　　Reasons for hospital teaching range from preventing a child falling behind and m aintaining the habit of school to keeping a child occupied, and the latter is of ten all the teacher can do. The position and infl：：

　　Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of pink cheeks, red lips and flexible knees; it is a matter of will, a quality of imagination, a vigor of the emotion, it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.

　　Youth means a dispositional control of courage over cowardice, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.

　　Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

　　Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human beings heart the looking forward to wonder, the endless child-like appetite of whats next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it is receiving messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from God, you are young.

　　When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.

　　As is graphically depicted in the cartoon, a young girl is talkingwith her mother. She says ironically, Good news mom! I was accepted to thecollege of your choice! Then, her mother smilesand seems content with thisresult. Apparently, the cartoon aims toreveal the fact that a majority ofmodern parents play anincreasingly negative role in their childrens growth.

　　There are several possible reasonsaccountable for thisphenomenon. To begin with, family in growing numbers has onlyone child;therefore, parents oftentimes focus all their attentionson that child and exertmuch pressure on him or her. Moreover,numerous parents intend to realize their unfulfilleddreams byletting their children learn what they failed to learn and applyforthe college by which they failed to be accepted, because theyhave become richerand they believe that they have the power tomake what they wanted and want cometrue now. For instance, myuncle used to be a poor man and his dream that oneday he wouldbecome a violinist was broken because of lack of money. But hemadea fortune by selling coals, and then forced his son, my youngerbrother topractice playing violin. My brother was a huge fan ofsports, but now he has toplay violin everyday unwillingly andofter quarrels with theirparents.

　　To sum up, it is unreasonable for parentsto control theirchildrens life. In order to help them grow happily andhealthily, parents aresupposed to communicate with their kidsabout what they are really interested in.Meanwhile, itis about time that parents let their kids make their ownchoices.Only in these ways will children grow in apsychologically happy environment andrealize their owndreams.

　　No one can have failed to notice the fact that water shortage is a grave problem with which the whole world is confronted. Actually， it has become so widespread that it has severely affected peoples daily life and hindered the development of the global economy.
